Mayor Alex Morse will be talking about his experience as the first openly gay mayor in the history of the city of Holyoke and his advice to students seeking a similar path in politics. Moderated by Dr. Travis Beaver, Assistant Professor, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work.

This lecture is made possible through the generosity of alumni and friends who contribute annually to The Lavender Fund.

At 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, Dr. Caren Beilin, an assistant professor in MCLA’s English & Communications Department, will offer a free community conversation, via Zoom, in her role as this spring semester’s Hardman Scholar-in-Residence. Dr. Beilin has developed a new residency program– in coordination with MassMoCA– which will invite young emerging writers into our community.

The event is free and open to the public!
