Bang on a Can and MASS MoCA present a three-day music festival, LOUD Weekend, held for the first time from Friday, August 2 through Sunday, August 4, 2019, at MASS MoCA in North Adams. Over the three-day period, more than 30 concerts will take place in the museum’s galleries and throughout its stunning collection of indoor and outdoor performing arts venues. Highlights of the festival include the otherworldly Sun Ra Arkestra; Bang on a Can All-Stars performing Field Recordings; Ben Frost’s visceral Music for 6 Guitars; Dracula – the classic 1931 film brought to life with Philip Glass’ acclaimed score; Brian Eno’s pre-ambient classic Discreet Music performed by Contact; a communal, all ages and skill levels performance of Pauline Oliveros’ Sonic Meditations; a hypnotic solo set by electronic musician and singer Julianna Barwick; and much more.
