Event Details

The 150th anniversary of Old Peppersass occurs in 2016.  A nationwide tour of the first cog-driven train begins in Waltham in May with North Adams as the second stop in June.  The concluding celebration will be in August 2019 at Mt. Washington in NH on the 150th anniversary of the Cog Railway itself.  A 48-minute video will be shown twice daily in Building 4N at the Park.  Admission is free and there will be a daily drawing for a family pack, four tickets usually priced at $60 each, to ride the actual Mt. Washington Cog Railway.  While at the Park be sure to visit the North Adams Museum of History and Science Building 5A to view its railroad exhibits and the Hoosac Tunnel exhibit in the Visitors Center Building 4.
