2:30 – 4 PM
Children of all ages and abilities are invited to come to the Youth Services Department on Thursday, February 22nd 2:30-3:30 p.m. and read to or spend time with our special furry friends. Children may bring a favorite book from home or choose one from the library’s wonderful book collection and spend a short time reading to a dog. Children who are not yet confident around dogs are also welcome to spend time just sitting quietly with one of our dogs. Therapy dogs are a wonderful way for children to practice reading to a non-judgmental partner. Our dogs are all certified as therapy dogs and we are confident of their patience and charm. The dogs will be at the library with their owners/handlers. Light refreshments and dog biscuits will be available. Call the Youth Services Department at 413-662-3133, ext. 14 for more information.
