Direct from Nashville, the twins are out on the road – supporting frequent collaborator Jenny Lewis – and will be spending their night off at TOURISTS, Singing for their Slumber. Gonna be a beautiful evening – in all the ways. All are welcome. No charge.
Raised in Louisville, KY, identical twin sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson have always blended musical genres to tell their story. In the early 2000s, the twins were drawn to L.A.’s thriving Silver Lake music scene where their sound “developed a style of sweet, soulful indie-folk that does more than nod to alt-country influences” (NPR). They released four albums – including 2006’s iconic Rabbit Fur Coat with Jenny Lewis – and clocked many miles on the road. But it was when they relocated to Nashville five years ago that they began to focus on the power of their signature harmonies.
Since then, they’ve released their own records while also providing backing vocals for acts including Kings of Leon, Harry Connick Jr., Foster The People, My Morning Jacket, Shooter Jennings, and Willie Nelson.
